GOP-dominated legislature attempting to reduce water-quality of Arkansas streams

Hi Everyone,

I decided it was worthwhile to forward this statement (attached) from Beaver Water District. It appears that certain industries in Arkansas are determined to change long standing Arkansas water quality standards. Analysis from beaver Water District suggests these changes would be broadly harmful to streams all over the state.

For example, the proposed bill removes the protection of the domestic water supply use designation from a large number of streams in the state.

Below is the forwarded message from Colene Gaston at Beaver WD:

Subject: Arkansas House Bill 1929 re Water Quality Standards
The industry-backed HB1929 that changes the Arkansas Water Quality Standards was filed today. I've attached a one-page opposition statement by Beaver Water District. Please do what you can to get the word out and oppose this bill. We may not have much time before the bill is heard by the House Committee on Public Health, Welfare, and Labor.

Best regards, Colene
