A place for conservationists and particularly bird watchers to share photos, information and opinion. This Web log does not represent official opinions of The Northwest Arkansas Audubon Society but reports on the activities of that organization and its members.
It's New Year's Day and we had to run into town (Greenland) for a few, unexpected supplies. On the way back home we saw this owl sitting on top of a fence post. It seemed to be studying something in the grass and calmly took in the scenes around him. Luckily, we were able to watch him for a minute or two and he was absolutely beautiful. We thought it was a lovely way to start 2013, but had no idea what type of owl it was. Thanks for having this information up so that we were able to identify him. Happy New Year's!
